23 March World Meteorological Day- 2016

UPDATE: 3.30 pm 23 March 2016 (see below)

WMO23MarchMeteorologicalDay2016

The INTERNATIONAL METEOROLOGICAL ORGANISATION (IMO) was founded in 1873. It changed to WORLD METEOROLOGICAL ORGANISATION (WMO) in 1950.
One year later that is in 1951, WMO became a specialized agency of the United Nations Organisation for meteorology (climate and weather), hydrology (water related issues) and geophysical sciences (environmental issues, etc.).

The World Meteorological Day is marked, since 1950, on every 23 March with a particular theme. ‘Hotter, Drier, Wetter and Face the Future’ is the combined theme for 23 March 2016. Records have been broken regarding Heat, Cyclones, Snowfalls, Rains and Droughts across the Blue Planet during this decade, last year and this year.

EX-MINISTER OF EDUCATION VASANT BUNWAREE

AND FLASH FLOOD OF 30 MARCH 2013

Education is considered as one of the noblest professions by our civilization. In Virtue of the provisions entrenched in International Conventions and Protocols, Education is the first pillar in the ‘Putting-People-First’ mechanism for building a Disaster Resilient Society. Ex-Minister of Education and Human Resources, Vasant Bunwaree, has failed totally to respond to my series of requests made in view of educating students on ‘Awareness, Preparedness and Mitigation of Natural Calamities in the Indian Ocean’, just a few weeks before the Deadly Flash Flood of 30 March 2013. He has Violated the Provisions entrenched in the International Protocols and Conventions to which the Republic of Mauritius has adhered. He is one of the Policy Makers and stakeholders responsible for the death of 11 Mauritian citizens during that Extreme Weather Condition.

CYCLONE NAMES FOR SEASON 2014-2015

SOUTH INDIAN OCEAN

All Cyclones, Storms, Hurricanes and Typhoons bear a name which gives them an identity for the purpose of records, for issuing warning messages and for scientific study and monitoring.

Names started being used in early 20th century by an Australian weather forecaster. He gave the tropical cyclones the names of political persons whom he disliked. The US Army Air Corp and Navy meteorologists used the names of their girlfriends or wives during the World War II. In 1950-1952 they used names in alphabetical order for the North Atlantic Ocean. In 1953 the US Weather Bureau used female names. In 1979, the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) and the US National Weather Service (NWS) the list included male names.
