BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: CYCLONES AMARA, BRUCE AND OTHERS.                                        SEE UPDATE BELOW: NOAA-TROPICAL DISTURBANCE 93S.

THE FIRST TROPICAL CYCLONE (AMARA) FOR SEASON 2013-2014 IS ALREADY ON THE TRACK.

THIS TROPICAL SYSTEM, WHICH I IDENTIFIED ON WEDNESDAY 04 DECEMBER 2013, HAS ENLARGED IN DIAMETER AND IS CURRENTLY IN THE ZONE OF AGALEGA; THAT IS, IN THE NORTH OF MAURITIUS (CLICK PICTURE TO ENLARGE AND PRESS ESC ON KEYBOARD TO CLOSE).
THE CLOUD MASSES AROUND IT ARE ACTIVE WITH 70-100 mm OF RAIN. AGALEGA WILL, HIGHLY LIKELY, BE FLOODED.

THIS CYCLONIC SYSTEM HAS NOT YET BEEN NAMED BUT WILL EVENTUALLY BE CALLED 'AMARA'. THE SYSTEM WILL MOVE WESTWARDS TOWARDS NORTH OF MADAGASCAR IN THE FOLLOWING DAYS. IT IS ON THIS TRACK THAT IT WILL INTENSIFY WITH THE COMBINATION OF OTHER CLOUDS MASSES ORIGINATING FROM MADAGASCAR AND EAST OF AFRICA-MOZAMBIQUE.

IT IS HIGHLY LIKELY THAT THIS TROPICAL CYCLONE WILL FORM AND MOVE JUST LIKE CYCLONE DUMILE (01-05 JANUARY 2013). IF IT INTENSIFIES, THEN IT WILL MOVE FROM NORTH-WEST IN THE DIRECTION OF REUNION, MAURITIUS AND RODRIGUES, JUST LIKE I HAVE FORECASTED FOR 09-14 DECEMBER 2013.

SO, BE PREPARED FOR THUNDERSTORMS, RAINFALLS, WIND INTENSITY AND HIGH WAVES AT THE SEAS.

  ALSO KEEP WATCH FOR UPDATES.

                     UPDATED: 9.00 pm 12 DECEMBER 2013.

                  TROPICAL DISTURBANCE 93 S.

The Cyclonic System mentioned above, moved rightly towards North of Madagascar until East Africa. It did not intensify but rather fused with the Cloud masses around Mozambique and Malawi. Here, another Weather System, active in nature, combined with high level of Tropical Moisture. As a result, SOUTH AFRICA was under HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING as from 09 December. On 10 December, the day of the official mourning after the death of Ex-President Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, more than 50 mm of rain in 24 hours affected the region. The rainfall is still expected to last until 15 December. Read more:click here.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has identified, today, another TROPICAL DISTURBANCE around Longitude 930 South in the far East of Rodrigues. This Cyclonic System appears to carry lots of rain. It is likely that it will move Southwards of Rodrigues by this week end. It is highly likely to be neutralized by the Atmospheric Current of the South Pole.
