CHANDARYAAN 2’sjourney was initially scheduled, by India Space Research Organisation (ISRO), to start on 15 July 2019. However, it was postponed because a ‘snag’ was detected just before the launching procedures. The problem was solved on 18 July and the new schedule was fixed for 22 July 2019.
The CHANDRAYAAN 2 Spacecraft was successfully lifted off, on 22 July 2019,by Launcher GSLV MkIII-M1, from the second launch pad of Satish Dhavan Space Centre (SDSC),Sriharikota, Andra Pradesh, India. All the monitoringof Mission CHANDRAYAAN 2 was carried out as from the Satellite Control Centre (SCC) building, ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC), Benguluru (Bangalore). Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Damodhar Modi, who assisted the launching, congratulated Chairman of ISRO Dr. Kailasavadivoo Sivan for the successful lift off.
The First manoeuver was carried out on 24 July 2019:
<<<First earth bound orbit raising maneuver for Chandryaan-2 spacecraft has been performed successfully today (July 24, 2019) at 1452 hrs (IST) as planned, using the onboard propulsion system for a firing duration of 48 seconds. The new orbit will be 230 X 45163 km.>>>

<<<Fifth earth bound orbit raising maneuver for Chandryaan-2 spacecraft has been performed successfully today (August 6, 2019) at 1504 hrs (IST) as planned, using the onboard propulsion system for a firing duration of 1041 seconds. The orbit achieved is 276 x 142975 km.
All spacecraft parameters are normal.>>>
Thereafter, on 14 August 2019CHANDRAYAAN-2 entered the Lunar Transfer TrajectorySuccessfully.

<<<Lunar Orbit Insertion (LOI) maneuver was completed successfully today (August 20, 2019). The duration of maneuver was 1738 seconds beginning from 0902 hrs IST. With this, Chandrayaan-2 was successfully inserted into a Lunar orbit. The orbit achieved is 114 km x 18072 km.
Following this, a series of orbit maneuvers will be performed on Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft to enable it to enter its final orbit passing over the lunar poles at a distance of about 100 km from the Moon’s surface.
Subsequently, the lander will separate from the Orbiter and enters into a 100 km X 30 km orbit around the Moon. Then, it will perform a series of complex braking maneuvers to soft land in the South polar region of the Moon on September 7, 2019.
The health of the spacecraft is being continuously monitored from the Mission Operations Complex (MOX) at ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) in Bengaluru with support from Indian Deep Space Network (IDSN) antennas at Bylalu, near Bengaluru. All the systems of Chandrayaan-2 are healthy.>>>

<<<Second Lunar bound orbit maneuver for Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft was performed successfully today (August 21, 2019) beginning at 1250 hrs IST as planned, using the onboard propulsion system. The duration of the maneuver was 1228 seconds. The orbit achieved is 118 km x 4412 km.
All spacecraft parameters are normal.>>>
As from this phase a series of mapping of the surface of the MOON was carried out. Photographs of Craters, Valleys and the topography were captured by the Sensors and Cameras of ORBITERCHANRAYAAN 2. See a few of these.
Five Lunar Orbit Manoeuvers were carried out between 21 August and 23 August 2019.Finally, on 01 September 2019:

VIKRAM Lander was separated successfully from the Orbiter on 02 September 2019.

The Vikram Lander is currently located in an orbit of 119 km x 127 km. The Chandrayaan-2Orbiter continues to orbit the Moon in its existing orbit. The health of the Orbiter and Lander is being monitored from the Mission Operations Complex (MOX) at ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) in Bengaluru with support from Indian Deep Space Network (IDSN) antennas at Bylalu, near Bengaluru. All the systems of Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter and Lander are healthy. The next maneuver is scheduled tomorrow (September 03, 2019) between 0845-0945 hrs IST.>>>
03 September 2019 was marked by the First de-Orbiting manoeuver.
<<<The first de-orbiting maneuver for Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft was performed successfully today (September 03, 2019) beginning at 0850 hrs IST as planned, using the onboard propulsion system. The duration of the maneuver was 4 seconds.
The orbit of Vikram Lander is 104 km x 128 km. Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter continues to orbit the Moon in the existing orbit and both the Orbiter and Lander are healthy.>>>
The Second de-Orbiting Manoeuver carried out on 04 September 2019.
<<<The second de-orbiting maneuver for Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft was performed successfully today (September 04, 2019) beginning at 0342 hrs IST as planned, using the onboard propulsion system. The duration of the maneuver was 9 seconds.
The orbit of Vikram Lander is 35 km x 101 km. Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter continues to orbit the Moon in an orbit of 96 km x 125 km and both the Orbiter and Lander are healthy.
With this maneuver the required orbit for the Vikram Lander to commence it descent towards the surface of the Moon is achieved.The Lander is scheduled to powered descent between 0100 - 0200 hrs IST on September 07, 2019, which is then followed by touch down of Lander between 0130 - 0230 hrs IST.>>>
Millions of persons (civil society, scientists and researchers) of the ‘whole world watched its progress from one phase to the next with great expectations and excitement’ watched live the long awaited exploration of the Southern Pole of the MOON.The Manoeuvers were definitely very delicate. ISRO Chairman Dr. Sivan was already considered by saying that ‘the last 15 Minutes of terror’. Unfortunately, at the final phase of the descent 2.1 km at the surface of the MOON, all communications with VIKRAM was lost.
In the latest update, published on Saturday 07 September 2019 by ISRO,states that Mission CHANDRAYAAN 2 was 90-95% successful.
<<<Chandrayaan-2 mission was a highly complex mission, which represented a significant technological leap compared to the previous missions of ISRO, which brought together an Orbiter, Lander and Rover to explore the unexplored south pole of the Moon. Since the launch of Chandrayaan-2 on July 22, 2019, not only India but the whole world watched its progress from one phase to the next with great expectations and excitement. This was a unique mission which aimed at studying not just one area of the Moon but all the areas combining the exosphere, the surface as well as the sub-surface of the moon in a single mission. The Orbiter has already been placed in its intended orbit around the Moon and shall enrich our understanding of the moon’s evolution and mapping of the minerals and water molecules in the Polar Regions, using its eight state-of-the-art scientific instruments. The Orbiter camera is the highest resolution camera (0.3m) in any lunar mission so far and shall provide high resolution images which will be immensely useful to the global scientific community. The precise launch and mission management has ensured a long life of almost 7 years instead of the planned one year. The VikramLander followed the planned descent trajectoryfrom its orbit of 35 km to just below 2 km above the surface. All the systems and sensors of the Lander functioned excellently until this point and proved many new technologies such as variable thrust propulsion technology used in the Lander. The success criteria was defined for each and every phase of the mission and till date 90 to 95% of the mission objectives have been accomplished and will continue contribute to Lunar science,notwithstanding the loss of communication with the Lander.(etd)>>>

After a few hours of this mishap during the manoeuvres of ISRO, there have been many comments which invaded the world from the public and all those who witnessed this Space Event, including the digital media.

[[[Mission CHANDRAYAAN 2 is a success although the communication with Lander VIKRAM is lost at 2.1 km from the MOON’s surface on Saturday 07 September 2019. I can see Lander VIKRAM standing in an upright position on MOON’s surface. But, its Right hind leg is bruised because of the uneven surface of the MOON. VIKRAM is waiting for commands from ISRO, unless it is activated according to its software programme.]]]

However, the Scientific explanation can also be given here. Usually, Gravity and Magnetic Field form an integral part of study, research and adaptation in the sphere of Astrophysics. So, there may be some equipment, tools and devices on board of VIKRAM which may be incompatible to MOON’s Gravity and Magnetic Field. These must be more clarified by ISRO, unless there are other possible reasons which have disrupted the Landing phase of VIKRAM. So, let everyone be enlightened on the issues raised above.
