WEATHER FORECAST FOR MAURITIUS-NOVEMBER 2013.

Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive

BREAKING NEWS UPDATE

HEAVY RAINFALL WHOLE MAURITIUS 25 NOVEMBER-03 DECEMBER 2013.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR MAURITIUS-

NOVEMBER 2013.

  The Summer Season 2013-2014 is already active since October 2013.

Refer to the Satellite Imagery METEOSAT-7 dated 12 NOVEMBER 2013 (click to enlarge).

  The Clouds are carrying 20-50 mm of Rain, which are highly likely to fall mostly in the Central Plateau and in the North and East of Mauritius and also in the North and East of Rodrigues.

(Read more to SEE UPDATE)

  Most of the Rain will fall in the Ocean.

 Moreover, it is highly likely that a Tropical Depression (AMARA)-SMALL to  MODERATE is in formation far in the North East of Rodrigues.

 This cyclonic system is highly likely to move and be better organized around the    Mascarenes by 23 November 2013.

 All these may be accompanied by Thunderbolts and rise in Temperature.

 Please, note that according to my Prediction 2007-2012, disastrous cyclones like  GERVAISE and HOLLANDA will visit Mauritius after 2012. So, after the FLASH  FLOODS of 13 February 2013 and of 30 March 2013, time is ripe for preparing to face Disastrous Cyclones.

 P. KANHYE.                                13 NOVEMBER 2013.

 UPDATE-14.00 hrs 21 NOVEMBER 2013:

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of US has already identified a TROPICAL DISTURBANCE as from yesterday. It has named it 90 S. This means that it has located it around Longitude 90o far  North East of Rodrigues. If it intensifies then it will be named TROPICAL DEPRESSION 'AMARA' by the Mauritius Meteorological Services in a few days time.

So far, this TROPICAL DISTURBANCE appears to be small as explained above.

So, keep watch for other updates.

UPDATE: 18.00 hrs 25 NOVEMBER 2013.

HEAVY RAINFALL REACHING OVER 100 mm IS HIGHLY LIKELY TO OCCUR ALL OVER MAURITIUS, ESPECIALLY IN THE SOUTH, WEST AND CENTRAL PLATEAU,  AS FROM TODAY 25 NOVEMBER TO 03 DECEMBER 2013, ACCOMPANIED BY THUNDERSTORMS.

THE TROPICAL DISTURBANCE IS STILL IN THE FORECAST REGION.

********

UPDATE: 20.00 hrs. 27 NOVEMBER 2013.

The CLIMATE PREDICTION CENTRE of NATIONAL OCEANIC AND ATMOSPHERIC ADMINISTRATION (NOAA) of US has rightly forecast above-average Rainfall to occur between 27 NOVEMBER-03 DECEMBER 2013 in this region of the Indian Ocean. It also confirms my WEATHER PREDICTION of 25 NOVEMBER 2013 (Click picture to enlarge, press ESC on keyboard to close).

RAINFALLS in Mauritius as from 1.30 pm today 27 NOVEMBER 2013 are as follows:

  • in the West-74.6 mm at Albion, 103.2 mm at Pailles;
  • in Central Plateau-81.6 mm at Moka, 85.2 mm at Vacoas and 56.8 mm at Mon Bois;
  • in the South no rain and
  • in the North-only 16.4 mm at Bain Boeuf.

The figures confirm most of my Forecast made on 25 November. These also indicate the direction in which the RAIN CLOUDS have been moving. Heavy clouds from the EAST have combined with those from NORTH WEST. The impact of the warm air and the humidity from the EAST caused the Thunderstorms around 1.30 pm in the NORTH WEST. The fusion of these clouds triggered a landfall mostly around the Port Louis Range and in the Central Plateau. This is slightly similar to the FLOODS of 13 February and 30 March 2013.

As from this evening Rain will decrease. PRECIPITATIONS will take place as from Thursday afternoon, but HEAVY RAIN of more than 100 mm will occur during the week end until 03 DECEMBER 2013. REUNION ISLAND will be more affected. This is  HIGHLY LIKELY to be caused by the mass of HOT AIR and CLOUDS from the SOUTH POLE which has warmed up since a few months.

It is worthwhile to take note that SOUTH AFRICA was under HEAVY RAINFALL between 15-17 NOVEMBER 2013.        Read more: SOUTH AFRICAN WEATHER SERVICE.

The preliminary conclusion is that Mauritius in under the FUSION of three Atmospheric systems: from the EAST, from the NORTH WEST and from the SOUTH. Watch for the next article explaining all these in detail, very soon.

Watch also for next UPDATE.
