JERUTO Number 10 Cyclone for Season 2019-2020

The Summer Season 2019-2020 for the South Indian Ocean continues to prevail with hardly a month to go. The Tropical Disturbance/Depression which was evolving in the Area of Responsibility (AOR) of Australia Bureau of Meteorology (ABOM), since last week, has crossed the frontier a few days ago. Located at 16.10 South and 84.90 East has intensified further. It has been named, yesterday, as JERUTO Moderate Tropical Storm by the Mauritius Meteorological Services (MMS). The MMS jurisdiction starts as from 900 East until 550 East in the Southern Indian Ocean. JERUTO is thus the 10th Cyclone for this Season. The name, which is Female, has been provided by Kenya, member of this Zone, as per WMO.
The JTWC named the Tropical Depression as 93S INVEST on 12 April 2020.
Météo-France-Réunion (MFR), which is the Regional Specialized Meteorological Centre (RSMC) for this zone, named the Tropical Depression as ''DEPRESSION TROPICALE 12.'' In its Advisories, MFR mentioned Forecasted the Weather System to intensify and to phase out rapidly within a lapse of 2-3 days.
